Welcome to the 27th Conference of the European Association for South Asian Archaeology and Art (EASAA), scheduled from 6 to 10 July 2026 in Ghent, Belgium.
In 2026, the conference comes to Ghent, a city famous for its medieval architecture, waterways, and vibrant cultural life. At once historic and dynamic, Ghent offers the perfect backdrop for five days of academic dialogue and community.
For over fifty years, EASAA has brought together an international community of scholars exploring the archaeology, art, and architecture as well as the numismatics and epigraphy of South Asia. The biennial conference has become a landmark event where new discoveries are presented, fresh ideas are debated, and lasting collaborations are forged.
